Friends,

If youโ€™re a Southwest Rapid Rewards member, thereโ€™s an opportunity worth at least knowing about: Frontier Airlines is offering Elite Gold status for a $40 fee, good through December 31, 2025. (frontier.getstatus.com)

The big upside is that itโ€™s open to any Rapid Rewards member whose account was opened before April of this yearโ€”no special elite status or flying history required. Just $40 and you're in.

Hereโ€™s what Frontier Gold gets you:

  • Free carry-on bag (normally a material upcharge)

  • Complimentary seat selection at booking

  • Zone 1 boarding

  • Priority customer care

  • Eligibility for upgrades to premium seats (like UpFront Plus, Frontierโ€™s new extra legroom product)

For Dallas-based travelers, like me, this could be surprisingly useful: Frontier flies nonstop to a handful of placesโ€”and Frontier has very low fares.

That said, Iโ€™m personally not planning to go for it this time around. Not because itโ€™s a bad deal (I actually think itโ€™s a strong value if youโ€™re even considering flying them), but because I simply donโ€™t have any upcoming trips on Frontier. And $40 is still $40 if youโ€™re not going to use it.

If you do have plansโ€”or youโ€™re open to giving Frontier a tryโ€”this could really be worthwhile. The extra perks are game-changing on their otherwise low-cost tickets.

Just note: this promo isnโ€™t brand new, but it is scheduled to end Wednesday. So if you want to jump in, nowโ€™s the time to do it.

You can apply (or read more) here: Frontier Elite Gold Status Match.

Fly well.
